Norwegian Sky To Include Alcoholic Drinks in Fare

I always though that the "all-inclusive" trend was having a steam-roll effect. I figured we would see an offering like this, but I am honestly surprised that we see it from NCL first.

Starting in 2016, Norwegian Sky's 3 and 4 day sailings will include the cost of all premium spirits and cocktails, wines by the glass and beers priced under $11.00.  Underage guests will receive unlimited soda and juice.

My first thought is that this is a great move for cruise lines overall, knowing how popular the drinks packages are.  On second thoughts, I wonder if there will be hidden or unexpected consequences to this new perk...  Will they need more control on who is served as to avoid potential drunken "incidents"?

It will be interesting to see what other cruise lines follow and what variations of this all-inclusive theme we will see.

What are your thoughts?
