Dynamic Dining - Did Royal Caribbean Fix Their New Dining Concept?

With the launch of Royal Caribbean's latest new ship, Quantum of the Seas, came a new concept in cruise ship dining: Dynamic Dining.  I say new, but it's really only new for Royal Caribbean.  Dynamic Dining is basically an open concept dining experience where you choose when and where you will dine each night of your cruise.  Traditional seating was done away with and the large main dining room was replaced with four smaller venues of different types of food.

Having been contracted with Royal Caribbean just prior to the launch of the Anthem of the Seas, there was much excitement mingled with a bit of concern over this change in dining format.  Many of the regulars of the line felt disappointed that they were being forced out of their beloved traditional dining, while many other cruisers were looking forward to the idea.  Much of the logistics were yet to be worked out only when the ship actually launched.  Leading up to the launch, guests could make reservations for their dinner times prior to the cruise.  I can't say this was a perfect process.  Lack of available times and just plain confusion added to the uncertainty of how this new concept would work.

I'm not surprised that Royal Caribbean has now tweaked Dynamic Dining into two separate options:  Dynamic Dining Choice, which is basically the concept as created, dine when and where you want, or Dynamic Dining Classic, which gives you a fixed seating rime with the same table mates and staff, but the restaurants rotate. I have not experienced the change but it sounds to me like they may have made a good move.  I am sure more adjustments will be forthcoming as the line obviously intends on rolling out this dining option to it's other ships, most recently the Oasis of the Seas.

Have you experience Dynamic Dining?  Please tell me your thoughts!
